More training success at FSL

John, who is our Operations Manager here at FSL, successfully completed a Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Management, which has been specifically designed for middle managers with a wide span of control and accountability for performance, in particular those with responsibility for determining resource allocation and operational methods in their department or organisation.

As part of the course, John undertook four mandatory units, covering developing and implementing operational plans, working productively, providing leadership and direction, and planning change.  He then choose from a diverse range of optional units to complete the qualification, tailoring his learning to meet individual and organisational needs.  This is what John had to say “As a new manager, this qualification helped a great deal in filling in the gaps in my knowledge and experience. The NVQ is broken down into easily manageable chunks and was very straight forward to follow.  As it was all completed in my work place and work time it was also very convenient.  As a result, I now feel more confident in performing my role, and have been able to implement my skills better within my team to improve our overall performance.”

The course culminated in an awards ceremony at the end of June, held at Anfield (much to the delight of John who is a lifelong LFC fan).  The evening was hosted by Rick Vaughn from Liverpool’s Radio City 96.7 and included several awards in various categories.  Attendees had the opportunity to view the hallowed turf from the stands, as well as light refreshments and entertainment.
