The Institute of Chartered Engineers (ICE) Building is an Edwardian Grade II listed building located in Westminster, Central London.  In recent years, several rooms have been refurbished, tailoring them to the needs and purposes of those who work and network within the space.

Due to a long standing relationship with Arcadis (previously EC Harris) we were contacted by them with regards to our Measured Building Survey services. For this project in particular, we were required to undertake a survey of certain parts of the building. Using point cloud data captured with our 3D laser scanner, together with high resolution HDR photography (for colourising the registered point cloud) using our iStar camera, we detailed the entirety of the building, including internal elevations and reflective ceiling plans in some of the building’s ornate rooms.

Once we had processed this information, (a project that took several weeks) we delivered the required information to the client, who used it for visualisations in their ongoing refurbishment plans.

Although the whole building was not refurbished when the information was delivered to the client, they decided to request an entire survey of the remainder of the building so that if any future refurbishment plans were to arise, then they would already be armed with all of the information they require in order to develop further designs schemes.
